PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified fluororesin excellent in moldability, mechanical properties and sliding characteristics. SOLUTION: This modified fluororesin is obtained by irradiating a fluororesin powder material, soon after being polymerized and having an unmodulated melting point, with 1 kGy-10 MGy radiation dose of an ionizing radiation in <=100 torr oxygen atmosphere at a temperature above the melting point of a modulated fluororesin.
