PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a household elevator to be built in a room of an existing house. SOLUTION: A box type elevator shaft 2 is splittably formed by first first, second and third box units 3, 4, 5, an elevating body 8 is built in the elevator shaft 2, and a drive unit 12 internally conlarnining an elevator 13 and a winding device 14 is installed in a second floor indoor space between an upper part of the elevator shaft 2 and a second floor ceiling part.
