PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rearview mirror assembly capable of preventing part of a mirror pane 4 adhered over the whole surface to a mirror support plate 6 from being separated from the plate 6 by the strong vibration caused in outside mirror of a truck, to avoid resulting deterioration in the optical performance. SOLUTION: By having at least one opening 22, i.e., unobstructed opening, a mirror pane 4 has no entire contact with a mirror support plate 6 and consequently the mirror pane 4 is partially released from the mirror support plate 6 in vibration, which could be fully transmitted with entire contact in between. The opening or a cutout 22 contributes also to weight reduction in the mirror support plate 6 and eventually in the whole system.
