PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sun visor for an automobile capable of being stored at a retreated position where it is superimposed on a ceiling when not used and shielding the sunlight on only a front window side or a side window side or on both of them as required. SOLUTION: This sun visor is provided with a main member 1 capable of being rocked and displaced between the retreated position where it is superimposed on the ceiling directly above the front window FW and a light shielding position where it covers the upper section of the front window FW and an auxiliary member fitted to the side window SW side end section of the main member 1 and capable of being rocked and displaced between a folding position where it is superimposed on the main member 1 and the light shielding position where it covers the upper section of the side window when the main member 1 is located at the light shielding position.
