PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water repellant stainproof film capable of preventing peeling by improving adhesion of a silica layer having water repellant and stainproof characteristics. SOLUTION: The film 1 comprises the surface silica layer 4 having water repellant and stainproof characteristics and arranged on the outermost surface, and an adhesion silica layer 3 containing carbon of less than 20 atomic %, which is arranged between the surface silica layer 4 and a base 2. The surface silica layer 4 and the adhesion silica layer 3 are preferably formed in a plasma CVD method, and the surface silica layer 4 preferably contains 20-40 atomic % of carbon.
