PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet storing cassette capable of preventing disorder of paper sheets stored in a supplementing and collecting cassette and preventing delivery failure in delivering bills. SOLUTION: A stage 11 for placing the bills P is fixes to a belt 19b, and the belt 19b is wrapped round plural pulleys. A ratchet wheel 20 is fixed on the same axis of the pulley 19h. The ratchet 21 is mounted on a frame of the cassette 10 to be turned on a fulcrum 22, and an engagement part 23 provided on the tip of the ratchet 21 is engaged with the ratchet wheel 20. One end of a spring 24 is fitted rather closer to the engagement part 23 side from the fulcrum 22 of the ratchet 21, thereby energizing the ratchet 21 upward. The ratchet wheel 20 is rotated in the direction of an arrow E with the engagement part 23 of the ratchet 21 put in the engaging state, but not rotated in the direction of an arrow F. The engagement of the engagement part 23 with the ratchet wheel 20 is released by lowering the engagement part 23.
