PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an uneven sheet, which is free from the generation of the dislocation of the unevenness on both sides of the sheet, without using an expensive embossing plate. SOLUTION: A thermoplastic resin base material sheet 11 is softened by heating, held between a pair of embossing plates at least one of which is a thin plate having numbers of through holes h of a prescribed cross-sectional shape, and pressed. Parts positioned at the through holes h in the surface of the softened base material sheet 11 are expanded into the free spaces in the holes h to from projections, and the base material sheet 11 including the projections in cooled and solidified. After that, the embossing plates 12 are demolded. Since alignment for molding and the specular polish of the projections are possible even without using expensive embossing plates which are manufactured in a plat making process, the uneven sheet with convex lenses embedded in a prescribed two-dimensional arrangement in the sheet can be produced.
