PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band saw blade used for a band saw, capable of obtaining a fine cut surface, and an excellent direct advancing property without using a wedge of another member. SOLUTION: This band saw blade 5 has many knife-shaped blade parts 11 on one side of a body 10 forming a band shape, and a first projecting part 12 protruding toward one side in the thickness direction and a second projecting part 13 protruding toward the opposite side are alternately formed at the base part of each blade part 11. Since the blade part 11 forms a knife shape, and has the same structure as a knife saw, the cut surface of a work is fine. In addition, the first and second projecting parts 12, 13 act the same way as the set and wedge of a saw blade do, and a band saw blade excellent in direct advancing property can be obtained.
