PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer sheet which is free from fogging and nonuniformity in a recorded image and from deterioration of a recorded image quality due to decomposition of a binder contained in a photothermal conversion layer and enables formation of the recorded image of a high image quality. SOLUTION: The thermal transfer sheet has the photothermal conversion layer containing an infrared adsorbing dye and an image forming layer provided in this sequence on a substrate. The photothermal conversion layer contains at least a silsesquioxane-containing polymer having a pentacyclo [9. 5. 1. 13,9. 15,15. 17,13] octasiloxane skeleton expressed by general formula (1) and/or general formula (2). In formula (1), R denotes a univalent organic group or an organic silicon group that may have a substituent, and R1 a bivalent organic group or an organic metal group that may have the substituent. In formula (2), R2 denotes the univalent organic group or the organic silicon group that may have hydrogen or the substituent. |
