PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid phase oxidation reactor which can reduce the oxidation of a reaction solvent by controlling the residence time. SOLUTION: This reaction vessel includes the reaction vessel which has a space section of prescribed volume within an approximately cylindrical part, a lid which is coupled to the reaction vessel in the upper part of the vessel, at least >=1 agitating vanes which are disposed in the reaction vessel and are rotated by a drive source disposed on the outside of the reaction vessel, a liquid phase supplying line which supplies the reactant of the liquid phase into the reaction vessel, a liquid phase discharge line which is disposed at the side wall of the reaction vessel and discharges the reactant obtained through chemical reaction to the outside of the reaction vessel, a gas injection section which supplies oxygen-containing gas to the inside of the reaction vessel and has a crooked structure and an angle adjusting means which freely rotatably supports the gas injection section in such a manner that the outlet of the gas injection section faces the agitating vanes or the inner wall of the reaction vessel.
