Method for updating data stored in at least one data file in a server (13) from a client computer (10) separated from the server, said data including text elements and at least partly as HTML code existing commands. A first embodiment of the data file is transferred from the server to the client in a first version in which commands present in the data file are transferred unaffected. The data file is transferred is transferred from the server in a second version in which HTML code present in the data file is transferred unaffected while executing in the server commands intended for execution in the server before the transfer to the client, and a third version of the data file as interpreted by an HTML interpreter is made available on a display means. The content of the third version is divided in at least a first set of editable sections and a second set of editable sections, at least one editing command for changing the content of the third version of the data file is received and interpreted. The editing command is allowed to change directly the content of the first set of editable commands, while direct editing the content of non-editable sections of the data file is prevented, a second embodiment of the first version of the data file being created. Finally, the second embodiment of the first version of the data file is transferred from the client to the server. |
