PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material excellent in coloring sensitivity and heat resistance. SOLUTION: The thermal recording material has a thermal recording layer constituted mainly of leuco dye and a developer and provided on a substrate. Methylene bis (2-naphthol) is used as the developer and 4-acetyl biphenyl or p-acetotoluidide as a sensitizer.
