摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heat resistance of a reversible thermal recording medium and thereby to prevent narrowing of a temperature range enabling erasure of a recording material and set initially therefor, by a heating temperature or a heating time, even when heating is repeated for a long time. SOLUTION: The reversible thermal recording medium A is formed by providing a metallic light-reflecting layer 2 on one surface of a film-like base 1 constituted of a synthetic resin such as polyethylene terephthalate and by providing a thermal recording layer 3 thereon. The thermal recording layer 3 is constituted of a thermal recording material composition prepared by dispersing in a resin matrix an organic low-molecular compound of which the crystal changes reversibly according to temperature, and an erasure range holding rate after the medium is heated at 120 deg.C for two hours is made 70% or more to an initial one. As for the resin matrix, the mixture of a thermoplastic resin of non-chlorine series (containing no chlorine atom in a polymerization unit of a resin), such as one or more kinds of resins selected from an acrylic resin, a polyester resin and a polyurethane resin, and an electron-beam-curing or ultraviolet-curing non-chlorine-series resin is adopted.
