PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly circulate game mediums to suppress generation of noises and to effectively utilize a space. SOLUTION: The vertical type storage tank device includes a vertical type storage tank 1 disposed on the rear side of a polishing machine so as to be spaces apart therefrom, and a passage 16 vertically disposed in the tank 1, through which excessive pachinko balls polished at the polishing machine can flow down. The tank 1 comprises a channel-shaped tank body part 9, in which a passage 16 is formed, and a channel-shaped tank front cover part 10, which covers an opening of the body part 9 and is movable to the side of the polishing machine. In the inner space of the tank 1, a storage space 17 pachinko balls is formed outside the passage 16, whereby the pachinko balls can be discharged to the lower side of the polishing machine from the lower part of the tank 1 via a lower storage tank. Guide members 20 are disposed so as to be spaced apart from one another in the axial direction of the passage 16 to downwardly guide the pachinko balls flowing down along the opposed inner sides of the passage 16. A through hole 22 is formed between the vertically adjoining guide members to allow the balls to pass therethrough, the storage space 17 being in communication with the passage 16 through the holes 22.
