PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the frictional resistance in a small ship. SOLUTION: This stern propulsion device producing the propulsion force by receiving the transmission of the motive power of a main engine 1 in a hull comprises a transom box 4 mounted on the stern of the hull and a propulsion body 50 mounted in the transom box 4 in a state that it can be raised and steered. The propulsion body 50 includes an upper body 52 supported by a raising shaft 12 laterally placed in the transom box 4, a yoke 54 connected to the upper body 52 in the inverted U-shaped configuration, lower bodies 56, 56 respectively connected to both side ends of the yoke 54, and hydraulic motors 8, 8 mounted in the lower bodies 56, 56 while connected to propulsion units 11, 11. The device includes raising cylinders 14, 14 for vertically raising and adjusting the propulsion body 50 on the raising shaft 12 as a center of revolution, and a steering cylinder 18 for laterally steering the propulsion body 50 on a steering pin 15 as the center of revolution, connected to the raising shaft 12. |
