PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a medium skews during separating operation of a pickup roller to cause reading failure in reading or a medium jam because media of difference sized are mixed or the edges are not put in order so that the edges do not abut on a medium set reference surface in a paper sheet separating and discharging apparatus adapted to separate and discharge paper sheet media stored in a paper sheet media storing part by the medium set reference surface and a paper sheet medium regulating plate one by one by the pickup roller. SOLUTION: This apparatus is characterized in that a tool for truing-up of side edge of sheets for allowing the edge of a paper sheet medium to abut on the medium set reference surface is provided above the paper sheet storing part.
