PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an open-cell porous material capable of efficiently and sufficiently washing the pores thereof and always having stable water and air permeability. SOLUTION: This method for producing an open-cell porous material comprises the 1st step of preparing a raw material comprising an epoxy resin and a filler, the 2nd step of forming an open-cell porous material using the raw material, and the 3rd step of washing the pores of the porous material; wherein the 3rd step comprises introducing into the pores a solution to which the resin component remaining in the pores is soluble and/or a solution lower in surface tension than water.
