PURPOSE:To provide a separator which is environment-friendly, has high machining stability, and dimensional stability. CONSTITUTION:A part or the whole of plasticizer in an extruded sheet 1 produced with a mixture mainly consisting of polyolefin resin, inorganic powder, and a plasticizer, is extracted with a combustible solvent 2 which dissolves the plasticizer in an extracting bath 3 to replace the plasticizer with the combustible solvent 2. The combustible solvent 2 attached to the sheet 1 is vaporized in a liquid insoluble in the solvent 2 in a vaporizing bath 7 at a temperature higher than the boiling point of the combustible solvent 2. The sheet 1 is heat- dried to manufacture a battery separator. |
