INK FOR BACKLIGHT, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND METHOD FOR GENERATING HIGH BRIGHTNESS BACKLIGHT USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An ink for backlight is provided to absorb a part of ultraviolet emitted from cold cathode tube fluorescent lamp(CCFL) of LCD backlight assembly and convert the absorbed ultraviolet into visible rays, thereby increasing brightness of backlight. CONSTITUTION: The ink for backlight is produced by the steps of (i) dissolving 20-50 wt.% of acrylic copolymer and vinyl copolymer with weight ratio of 1:3 to 1:1 in mixed solvent of toluene, xylene and cyclohexanone; (ii) mixing 1-5 wt.% of polydimethylsiloxane with a molecular weight of below 30,000 comprising ethylene oxide group and propylene oxide group into the solution obtained from the step(i); (iii) stirring the mixture from the step (ii) at 100-150 deg.C for 2-3 hours and decreasing the temperature to below 60 deg.C; (iv) dropping 8-12 wt.% of methanol solution containing 5-10 wt.% of tetraethoxysilane and methyl tetramethoxysilane into the stirred mixture and standing the mixture for 1 hours; and (v) dropping 8-12 wt.% of a mixture of aminomethylpropanol and methanol(1:1 to 2:1) into the mixture, and successively adding 8-12 wt.% of filler and 0.01-1 wt.% of fluor.
