PURPOSE: A muffler in an exhaust system for a vehicle is provided to effectively reduce noise in all section of an engine rpm. CONSTITUTION: A muffler in an exhaust system for a vehicle is composed of a muffler body(32), a valve unit(42), and a valve control unit. The muffler body(32) has an inlet(33) and an outlet(34) for combustion gas, and is installed on one side of an exhaust pipe guiding the combustion gas to the outside. The valve unit(42) is rotatably installed on the inlet, and has many through holes. The valve control unit rotates the valve unit(42) by responding to an engine rpm. And, the valve control unit includes an actuator operated according to the negative pressure of an intake pipe, and a link unit connecting the rotary shaft of the valve unit(42) to a rod in the actuator.
