PURPOSE: A method for eliminating catalyst residues from unsaturated ketones produced through Carroll's reaction using Al-isopropoxide catalyst is provided, which is applicable to commercial continuous distillation equipments because the method is able to continuously eliminate Al-isopropoxide residues in a large scale. CONSTITUTION: The method includes the step of eliminating remaining aluminum isopropoxide catalysts to less than 1 ppm from ketones such as methyl heptenone, geranyl acetone or farnesyl acetone after Carroll's reaction in which t-vinyl alcohol and alkyl esters of acetoacetic acid are condensed to make unsaturated ketones and one or more adsorption agents for the above elimination being chosen from clay, silica and Amberlyst resins.
