The invention relates to a roof construction comprising roof elements in which there are load-bearing edge beams 2, intermediate beams between the said edge beams, a steam barrier, a first insulation layer 6 located on the said steam barrier, a second insulation layer 7, consisting of hard wool and located on the said first insulation layer and in which there are cavities 8 in the direction of the said intermediate beams, and a water insulation 9 placed on the said second insulation layer, edge beams 2 of mutually adjacent elements being respectively joined to one another in their upper surfaces by construction board material 13, the upper surface of which lies on the same plane as the upper surface of the said first insulation layer 6, a hard wool strip 14 having been mounted on the said construction board material 13 in similar fashion to in the said second insulation layer, which hard wool strip is provided with cavities 15 and lies snugly between the said second insulation layer 7 in two mutually adjacent elements, these cavities 15 lying oppositely to the cavities 8 of the second insulation layer 7, and on the purlin of the said second roof construction at least one collecting channel 19 having been formed, towards which the cavities 8 of the said second insulation layer 7 open. <IMAGE>
