VACUUM CONSOLIDATION PROCESS USING SOLID SOIL-GEOTEXTILE COMPOSITE

PURPOSE: Provided is a vacuum consolidation process to solve common problems such as reclaiming earth and sand and expensive sealing sheets by replacing the known materials with a specified solid soil-geotextile composite. CONSTITUTION: The process comprises using a solid soil(4)-geotextile(5) composite(1) as a reclaiming earth and sand, a sealing sheet and/or a drainage passway. The composite is useable as a landfill layer to surface of a soft ground without a surface reclaiming layer in case of a vacuum consolidation process. The composite is also effective for air-tightening during the consolidation process as a sealing sheet. The composite has improvements of intensity and air-tightening property sufficient to work on the soft ground.
