PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus are provided to form barrier ribs at low cost and with a high aspect ratio by simplifying forming steps to improve material use efficiency while promoting quality and processing accuracy. CONSTITUTION: A method of forming barrier ribs on a back plate for use in a flat panel display comprises a rib material delivery step for delivering a rib material from nozzle means while moving the nozzle means and the back plate relative to each other, and a rib material curing step for curing the rib material on the back plate while delivering the rib material from the nozzle means.
