摘要 PURPOSE: A method for fabricating a plastic optical fiber having a continuous refractive index distribution is provided, which fabricates a GI-POF(Graded Index Plastic Optical Fiber) having a low distortion rate and a large transmission bandwidth of an optical signal with a simple process. CONSTITUTION: According to the method, a resin polymer and a nonresponsive material dopant are mixed in an extruder, and an optical fiber is fabricated by a melt spinning and a wire drawing of the above mixed. And dopants existing in an outer layer part of a fiber cross section are extracted by passing the above fabricated fiber through a monomer solution or a melted solution of the resin polymer. The resin polymer is a PMMA(PolyMethylMethAcrylate), a PEMA(polymethyl methacrylate), a deformed PMMA where a hydrogen radical(-H) is substituted with heavyhydrogen in its molecular structure, a transparent excessive fluorination or polycarbonate.
