PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method for a drive in which the inspection of a recording/reading drive for a magnetic recording medium in verifying equipment and the like can be done without removing the recording/reading drive from the equipment in a disk type magnetic recording medium manufacturing. SOLUTION: This particular method is regarding the inspection method for the recording/reading drive for the disk type magnetic recording medium where a known diagnostic medium is read by the recording/reading drive for the magnetic recording medium, quality of this recording/reading drive is decided as normal/abnormal based on a readout result and thus the above described problem is solved.
