PURPOSE: A portable phone service system and method using service codes is provided to construct a database for web site information corresponding to each service code, transmit a query to an associated web site through the database if a user inputs the query and a service code to request information service, and to receive search information from the web site. CONSTITUTION: A portable phone service system comprises an Internet server(300). The Internet server(300), connected with a mobile terminal(100) through a radio network(200), consists of an information database(310), a search support module(320), a charging module(330), and a code inquiry support module(340). The information database(310) stores web site information corresponding to each service code. The search support module(320) searches the information database for a web site corresponding to a service code if the user of a mobile terminal(100) inputs the service code and a query, transmits the inputted query to the searched web site, and transmits the search information provided from the web site to the mobile terminal(100). The charging module(330) adds the information service charge to the user's mobile terminal bill. The code inquiry support module(340) provides service code associated information in response to the user's service code inquiry request.
