PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive actuator producing a large displacement through a simple structure. SOLUTION: When a voltage is applied between electrodes 2a and 2b formed on the inner and outer circumferential surfaces of a piezoelectric ceramic 1 wound into a coil, inner circumferential side of the piezoelectric ceramic 1 contracts while the outer circumferential side thereof elongates through piezoelectric reverse effect. When the coil-shaped piezoelectric ceramic 1 is fixed at one end part thereof, the other end part thereof turns when the piezoelectric ceramic 1 is deformed to reduce the coil diameter.
