PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely obtain a stable read image by properly correcting read image deviation in start and stop time due to a storage capacity of a memory element. SOLUTION: A timing generation means for generating read timing, which is variable corresponding to a point requiring start and stop control, is provided. As mentioned in detail below, read timing of an original image corresponding to a storage capacity of a memory element 17 is made asynchronous with a stepping motor 16 and set to the memory means 17 variably.
