PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency in taking out a cathode current in a cathode-ray tube comprising a cathode and a plurality of electrodes. SOLUTION: This cathode-ray tube is equipped with an electrode with a hole of a diameter smaller than the diameter of holes in electrodes on the cathode side, and supplys to the electrode with the smaller hole diameter with a voltage higher than voltages supplied to the other electrodes. This cathode-ray tube is equipped with an electrode with a hole of a diameter smaller than the diameter of holes in the electrodes on the cathode side, and supplys a voltage having an opposite phase to a voltage supplied to the cathode to a prescribed electrode.
