PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute initial setting and to start reproducing even without operating an initial setting display screen in an optical disk player. SOLUTION: This optical disk player, which sets reproducing conditions before an optical disk is played, is provided with a video decoding section for outputting the video signal of an initial setting screen and a control unit 14 for performing control so as to set the reproducing conditions of the optical disk player based on initial setting information entered by an operation button when an initial setting screen is displayed. The control unit controls the video decoding section so as to stop outputting of the video signal of the initial setting screen when the button of the command of starting the optical disk is operated, and outputs a playing start command. When the button of the command of stopping the optical disk 1 is operated, the control unit controls a video encoding section so as to output the video signal of the initial setting screen.
