PURPOSE: A device and a method for deciding laundry pattern are provided to change laundry pattern according to bubble quality of the laundries by sensing a change of voltage through resistance of a voltage change sensor by a micom and checking the quality of the laundries inserted into a laundry tub. CONSTITUTION: A method for deciding laundry pattern includes the steps of checking amount and quality of bubbles in order when the laundries are inserted into a laundry tub and initializing a micom for embodying the optimum laundry pattern algorithm according to the checked result, operating a motor part in a cloth amount sensing pattern through the control of the micom and sensing the cloth amount of the laundries through the remaining rotation generated by turning off the motor part after the lapse of a predetermined period of time, supplying wash water corresponding to the checked cloth amount to the laundry tub, operating the motor part in bubble quality sensing pattern and sensing bubble quality of the present laundries through voltage change generated by turning off the motor part after the lapse of a predetermined period of time, and embodying the optimum laundry pattern algorithm by the micom according to the checked bubble quality and amount.
