PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a watchman to grasp a state of a place to be monitored by giving many information items to the watchman and enable the watchman to quickly reach the place to be monitored. SOLUTION: The remote monitoring system consists of monitoring terminals that transmit 1st monitoring information including abnormity information and image information or the like of a place to be monitored and a remote monitoring device that receives the 1st monitoring information through a public telephone line network and retransmits the 1st monitoring information to reception terminals through a mobile phone channel network as 2nd monitoring information. The remote monitoring device converts the 1st monitoring information according to information of the monitoring terminals and the reception terminals recorded in advance into the 2nd monitoring information suitable for display for the reception terminals so as to able to inform the watchman about the state of the place to be monitored in a short time.
