PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a consumable management system that can easily handle consumables which can be attached to and detached from the body of an image forming device, particularly, those which are not fitted to the body. SOLUTION: A radio module having a nonvolatile memory is installed to each consumable and consumable information, such as the serial number, parts ID, working state, guarantee period, fitting/non-fitting to the image forming device, etc., of each consumable is stored in the nonvolatile memory. The body of the image forming device mainly communicates with the radio modules of the consumables which are not fitted to the body through transmission- reception (step S3), correlates the articles with the image forming device by processing consumable management (step S4), and prepares inventory management information for managing each consumable based on the consumable information, such as the working state, guarantee period, etc., of each article read from the nonvolatile memory of each article. |
