PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fetch contents of a memory dial registered in a portable telephone so that the place of the telephone can be detected when a portable telephone having a function of sending and receiving a mail is misplaced. SOLUTION: When a mail including a certain keyword and a personal identification number is sent to a misplaced portable telephone, the portable telephone locks its key and sends data in a memory dial to the sender of the keyword. Consequently, misuse of the misplaced portable telephone can be prevented and data contents in the memory dial can be fetched. Furthermore, when the portable telephone has a position detecting function such as GPS or the like, the misplaced portable telephone can be easily found by sending position data as well as the data contents in the memory dial.
