摘要 For different points considered in a target zone a probability of location is used which is a function: (a) of components of a covariance or auto-correlation matrix calculated for a given wave from signals recorded from a receiver and (b) of theoretical vector polarization components expected at the receiver, for the same wave and in the case where the source would be found at the point in the zone to be considered Method for determination of location distribution probability of a wave source observed by a multi-axial receiver in which: (a) from signals recorded from different components of the receiver the level of wave polarization is determined; determine for a number of points of a target zone, where the source is likely to have an expected polarization for these same waves at the receiver, for the case where the source would be found at the point in the target zone considered; calculate for the different considered points in the target zone a probability of location which is a function of the expected polarization at the receiver and the measured polarization.
