PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and low-cost light-emitting diode with less current consumption which emits various intermediate colors with a single light-emitting element chip. SOLUTION: A light-emitting diode 31 is provided where a light-emitting element chip 41 is placed on the upper surface of a substrate 32 where electrodes 33 and 34 are formed, with the upper surface side of the light-emitting element chip 41 sealed with a resin material 55. The resin material 55 comprises pigment particles 53 comprising dye which absorbs the light of fluorescent particles 52 comprising yttrium aluminum garnet(YAG), and that from the light-emitting element chip 41 as well as a part of wavelength of the light which is wavelength-converted by the fluorescent particles 52.
