PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver that make easy to view a display for an electronic program guide. SOLUTION: Figure 2 (a) shows a menu that urges a user to select a channel and depicts many buttons indicating channel numbers, by using longitudinal and lateral cells on the menu. The channel selection menu is displayed before displaying of a program column. Figure 2 (b) indicates a circular display area when a button of ch 101 is selected in the Figure 2 (a), and that a program column of the ch 101 is displayed in the circular display area. Program names are displayed in the sequence of the start time clockwise by one circumference as one hour, and the display part of program information is sectored into sectors having a center angle set in proportion to the program time (televising time). An upper position of the circular display area is provided with a time zone display area, where programs are televised in a zone of an hour (Figure indicates a time zone around 9 AM).
