PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multimedia communication protocol converter for suppressing degradation of sound quality and image quality and processing delay and enabling communication between the multimedia communication terminals of different communication protocols. SOLUTION: This multimedia communication protocol converter matches sound codes and image codes so as to perform the communication by an encoding rule or and encoding format in common to the two multimedia communication terminals 204 and 205 at the time of performing the communication between the two multimedia communication terminals 204 and 205 of the different communication protocols through communication networks 202 and 203.
