PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL HAVING DIFFERENT WIDTHS OF BARRIER RIBS

PURPOSE: A plasma display panel having different widths of barrier ribs is provided to control a size of discharge space by increasing or decreasing a width of barrier rib formed on the rear substrate. CONSTITUTION: A multitude of address electrode(28) is formed in a stripe shape on a rear substrate(22). A multitude of barrier rib having different widths is formed between the address electrodes(28). The width of the barrier rib is reduced from an edge portion of the rear substrate(22) to a center of the rear substrate(22). The first to the fifth barrier ribs(201-205) are formed in a predetermined interval from the center of the rear substrate(22) and the edge portion of the rear substrate(22). The width of the first barrier rib(201) formed on the center of the rear substrate(22) is broader than the width of the fifth barrier rib(205) formed on the edge portion of the rear substrate(22). An area of the first discharge space(301) of the first barrier rib(201) is larger than the area of the second discharge space(302) between the second and the third barrier ribs(202).
