PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-stage converter using digital dither capable of using a whole of frequency spectrum for a signal band width. SOLUTION: In a converter 10, each stage 22, 30, 40 and 42 receives an analog input signal 12 to generate a partial digital output. The first stage 22 receives a sample analog signal as an analog signal. An analog input to the stage is quantized based on the lower and upper comparator threshold, when there is a quantized sample analog signal 20 between the lower comparator threshold and the upper comparator threshold, the digital output is generated with adding a dither to the signal 20. The digital output from each stage are applied to an error correcting circuit 28. The circuit 28 eliminates a redundancy and influences of the dither to generate a digital display adapted to the signal 20. An effect of the dither improves a suspected free dynamic range(SFDR) of the display of the analog input.
