PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve non-loaded Q (Qu) of a dielectric resonator in a dielectric resonator equipped with a TE01δmode dielectric resonance element. SOLUTION: The dielectric resonator is equipped with the TE01δmode dielectric resonance element and an external conductor housing the TE01δmode dielectric resonance element. When defining a wavelength of a resonance frequency of the dielectric resonator asλo, and the length of the external conductor arranged around the TE01δmode dielectric resonance element, when the external conductor is cut on a plane orthogonal to a shaft length direction of the TE01δmode dielectric resonance element as L, 1.4λo<=L<=1.6λo is satisfied. Further, when the external conductor is cut on a plane orthogonal to a shaft length direction of the TE01δmode dielectric resonance element, the external conductor is of a circular ring or square ring shape.
