PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent intrusion of water into the housing of a portable telephone effectively even under a state where an antenna is contained in the housing and to sustain a good receiving sensitivity. SOLUTION: Since an antenna 1 is formed such that an antenna top part 2 covers a guide section 4 when the antenna 1 stops at a specified position, rain water is prevented from intruding into the housing 3 of a portable telephone through a through hole 113, thereby preventing an electric circuit in the housing 3 effectively from being damaged. A good signal receiving sensitivity can be sustained even when the antenna 1 is used while being contained in the housing 3 by arranging no member impeding transmission/reception of signal around the antenna top part 2.
