PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital television broadcast receiver that can surely capture download data. SOLUTION: A system controller 10 of the receiver always monitors download transmission information transmitted from a broadcast station via a satellite (S1). Then each time the system controller 10 of the receiver discriminates that the download data from the satellite are transmitted, the receiver receives the download data sent, independently of the intention of the user (S2). Then a nonvolatile memory 12 stores the received download data in memory areas which are other than a data area used at present (S3).
