The method of wedging objects (3) in a box having a bottom (1e) and four side walls (1b) comprises introducing a cardboard sheet (2) into the box. The sheet has a central part (2k), with dimensions equivalent to those of the bottom, and on the two sides opposite the central part a foldable flap (2d). The flaps are folded upwards and the wedge is then inserted and forced into the box until it is in contact with the upper surface of the objects. The flaps are then pushed against and stuck to the box side walls. An Independent claim is included for a machine for wedging the objects.
