PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording and reproducing device in which many information tracks are recorded by utilizing the recording possible capacity of one recording medium to its maximum extent, and of which the operability is improved by facilitating track selection. SOLUTION: A recording medium consisting of a main region that is used to record a recording information main body and an auxiliary region that is used to record control information and/or additional information of the information in the main region, is used to record prescribed information different from original recording information onto specific tracks, which are added to the main region and the auxiliary region, at the start and/or at the end of the recording of the original recording information.
