PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily improve the quality of image data, and to efficiently process the image with reference to an extensive image area difficult to be realized by an SIMD type image processor IPP which is a programmable operating means. SOLUTION: These image processor and image forming apparatus comprise a means IPP for processing image data given by an image inputting means 200, a FCU and a PC, a bus control CDIC for collectively controlling transmission/reception of image data of the data bus to be IPP, a memory MEM, and a memory control IMAC for collectively controlling transmission/ reception of image data of the data bus to the memory. The memory control IMAC accumulates image data in the memory MEM, and performs separate image processing from image processing performed by the processing means IPP, for example, edge extraction, calculation of average values, and detection of pattern matching or frequency components. |
