PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimming device and an electronic apparatus that can prevent degradation of display quality due to voltage fluctuation by suppressing the voltage fluctuation of the power source, even if the inverter circuit is dimmer controlled. SOLUTION: In a dimming device 200 of the vehicle mounted navigation device, a separate load driving circuit 29 that outputs a load current for the separate load 28 different from the fluorescent lamp 25 at the switch off time of the inverter circuit 24 is constituted in the inverter power source 20. As a result, when the control signal DC is at 'L' level, a current Ii is made to flow in the inverter circuit 24, but the current made to flow in the separate load 27 becomes zero. When the control signal DC is of 'H' level and the current is not made to flow in the inverter circuit 24, a current is made to flow in the separate load 28.
