PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply apparatus which can reduce switching loss, realize a high efficiency, reduce the number of components of a control circuit, reduce the costs of switching devices, and reduce size and weight of a transformer. SOLUTION: One end of a series circuit comprising a primary winding T1 of a transformer T, an inductor L, and a capacitor C is connected to a connection point between a 1st switching circuit S1 and a 2nd switching circuit S2, and the other end is connected to an input power supply E. A rectifying/ smoothing circuit, including a rectifying device Ds, is connected to the secondary winding of the transformer T. A 1st control circuit, which controls the time after a voltage has been generated in the 1st drive winding T3 of the transformer T until the 1st switching circuit S1, is turned on and a time until it is turned off, and a 2nd control circuit 12 which controls a time after a voltage has been generated in the 2nd drive winding T4 until the 2nd switching circuit S2 is turned on, and the time until it is turned off are provided to practice a self oscillation operation.
