PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-functional peripheral unit for realizing data communication between various kinds of systems by providing an interface based on a specification of generalized wireless communication. SOLUTION: Data entered in PC 35 is sent through Bluetooth a interface 30c to a main body of the multi-functional peripheral unit and received through an interface 30a. The received data is stored in a text data memory 14c or an image memory 17. On the other hand, data stored in the receive mail data memory 14a is send to the PC 35 through the interface 30a and received by the interface 30c of the PC 35. A handy scanner 31 has a Bluetooth interface 30b, and the PC 35 and the data communication can be carried out through the handy scanner 31 between the main body of the multi-function peripheral unit.
